Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provides psychological counseling and crisis intervention for students
• Implements appropriate assessments and clinical interventions
• Facilitates group workshops, therapy, and series to meet outreach goals
• Builds relationships with campus community to reduce stigma and increase help-seeking
• Completes timely documentation in the EHR according to best practices
• Facilitates skills and process trainings for students and employees
• Consults with Director and colleagues regarding risk management and crisis support
• Participates in Counselor on-call rotation

Requirements

• Clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, and crisis response
• Commitment to multicultural approaches and addressing intersectional identities
• Knowledge of social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of students
• 2 years of experience (graduate placements/internships may count)
• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related clinical field
• Current or eligible for Vermont licensure within 6 months
