Counselor - Elementary or Middle School

Responsibilities

• Plan and promote guidance curriculum lessons focused on self-confidence, decision making, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Provide responsive services through individual counseling and small group sessions addressing academic success, peer relationships, and social development.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators to promote student success and understanding of developmental needs.
• Coordinate with school and community personnel to provide career and educational resources.
• Assist students with individual planning, including academic planning, credit consultation, and transition support between school levels.
• Facilitate referrals to special district programs such as gifted, bilingual, or special education services.
• Maintain professional records and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and interventions.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas School Counselor’s certificate.
• Valid Texas Teacher’s Certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
