Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care in a culturally responsive manner
• Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and ASAM criteria evaluations
• Conduct substance use screenings and overdose assessments
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapeutic sessions
• Develop and implement treatment plans in consultation with residents
• Manage client crises and de-escalation using trauma-informed approaches
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper client records and case histories
• Coordinate care with internal and external collaborators and multidisciplinary teams
• Complete insurance authorizations, clinical reviews, and discharge documentation

Requirements

• Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field
• Valid CAC, CADC, LADC, or LADC-II certification
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a substance use therapy program
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work in a multicultural setting with sensitivity and empathy

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
