About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual clinical services, mental health assessments, suicide assessments, and risk assessments for residents using a strength-based approach.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational groups, including support for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy programs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate clinical interventions and therapeutic group processes.
  • Make clinical diagnoses and provide treatment recommendations, including interventions and goal setting.
  • Provide crisis intervention using approved verbal and physical techniques and assess incidents of potential abuse.
  • Offer clinical training to staff regarding issues affecting children in residential care.
  • Collaborate with campus staff to coordinate care, attend intensive team meetings, and support residents during Adventure Programs and experiential learning activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Services Administration, or a related field.
  • Texas state licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or similar) or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, grasping, and prolonged sitting or standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in equine-assisted therapy or other experiential therapies.
