Counsel

Responsibilities

• Partner with product and marketing teams to bring new products to market and support marketing initiatives
• Provide sound compliance advice by staying up-to-date on banking, consumer protection, and employment laws
• Support the contracts team by negotiating and drafting agreements with partners and suppliers
• Work cross-functionally with internal product, business, tax, accounting, and compliance teams
• Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders to support innovation and business development
• Lead and support special legal projects as required

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active law license in good standing in California or Utah
• 3+ years of experience in banking or litigation law, preferably at a major law firm
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interact effectively with legal and business leaders
• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills
• High EQ and strong interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships
