Counsel, Product Legal, Financial and Strategic Partnerships

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex negotiations with banking partners, payment schemes, and other financial institutions.
• Provide legal support for strategic partnerships with global technology and platform partners, ensuring scalable and compliant fund and data flows.
• Design and implement processes, templates, and playbooks to enable efficient, repeatable contracting at scale.
• Champion the use of AI tools within the Product Legal team to drive improvements in contract review and risk analysis.
• Partner with Product, Risk, and Commercial teams on new product launches and complex deal structures.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executives on risk-weighted options and strategic trade-offs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer, with significant time at a top-tier law firm or in-house within fintech, payments, or banking.
• Deep experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and regulatory-sensitive agreements.
• Proven ability to build and improve legal processes, playbooks, and templates.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction (e.g., Singapore, England & Wales, US, or Australia).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with payments, issuing, embedded finance, or related cross-border regulatory frameworks.
• Prior experience in a legal role at a high-growth technology company or bank.
• Experience implementing or working with AI-enabled legal tools to enhance workflows.
• Direct experience supporting partnerships involving card programs, stablecoin, or digital asset rails.
