Counsel, Product & Commercial

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic thought leader and advisor to Safety and Risk teams regarding community safety and fraud prevention
• Provide rapid-response legal guidance on sensitive safety incidents
• Lead high-impact initiatives coordinating across Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Public Policy
• Mitigate regulatory, consumer protection, and employment classification issues related to driver and rider products
• Develop long-term legal strategies that balance risk with business objectives
• Collaborate with legal team members to improve processes and calibrate risk approaches

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
• J.D. from a top-tier law school
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
• Experience providing legal counsel on user trust and safety issues in tech or relevant industries
• Demonstrated experience handling sensitive or reputationally complex matters
• Ability to craft creative legal solutions in ambiguous environments
