Costume Fabricator

Responsibilities

• Design and develop patterns for puppet costumes using flat patterning and basic draping techniques
• Sew, alter, and assemble costume components to meet production visual styles
• Construct internal supports and structures to enhance costume durability
• Perform on-set repairs, adjustments, and emergency fixes
• Maintain detailed documentation for accurate costume replication
• Collaborate with Puppeteers, Mech teams, and the Costume Lead
• Organize and track costumes to ensure quality control

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in costume fabrication
• Proficiency in hand and machine sewing
• Competency in pattern-making and garment construction
• Strong knowledge of textiles and fabric care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and stand/sit for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in film, theater, or television
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
• Familiarity with Clo or similar pattern-making software
