About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) deliverables within larger projects or manage direct MEP commissions
- Establish early budgets, provide early estimating, and develop cost plans
- Manage design teams to budget, oversee tendering and procurement, and deliver post-contract reporting
- Mentor Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the MEP team
- Collaborate with contractors and MEP supply chains to ensure effective relationships
- Support the development of MEP digital systems and tools
Requirements
- Proven track record in cost management or quantity surveying across the full project lifecycle
- Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) or working towards qualification
- Degree or HNC level qualification
- Experience in leveling and negotiating tender returns and issuing recommendations
- Experience running change control processes and cost negotiations
- Ability to review payment applications and manage final account reconciliations
- Capability to undertake basic counts using Cost X
- Ability to perform benchmarking using available data
