About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the full lifecycle of cost management activities on data center construction projects
  • Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and budgets
  • Monitor project costs, track actuals vs. forecasts, and identify variances
  • Review and negotiate change orders and ensure cost validation
  • Collaborate with design consultants, engineers, and contractors
  • Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and executive summaries
  • Track contingency usage and cost impacts across project phases
  • Participate in procurement activities, bid analysis, and contractor negotiations
  • Maintain benchmarking data and historical cost records
  • Contribute to value engineering and design optimization
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial systems and regulatory controls
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in cost-focused project controls or cost management
  • Experience with large-scale, mission-critical construction projects (data centers, high-tech, or industrial)
  • Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control systems
  • Experience with procurement strategies and commercial management
  • Proficiency in industry-standard cost management software
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction consultancy experience
  • RICS accreditation or working toward it
  • Familiarity with MEP systems
