Cost Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead budget development, including baseline establishment, detailed cost estimates, and life-cycle costing for major infrastructure.
• Implement cost control procedures to track commitments, expenditures, and forecasts while identifying budget variances.
• Manage change processes by evaluating the financial impact of design changes and negotiating with contractors.
• Lead value engineering workshops to identify technical alternatives that reduce costs without compromising quality.
• Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, reporting on Cost and Schedule Performance Indices.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports, cash flow forecasts, and executive-level financial dashboards.
• Oversee contract administration for NEC or FIDIC contracts, including progress payment valuations and claim assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in cost management and project controls within the construction or engineering sectors.
• Expertise in cost management software such as Prism, Ecosys, or SAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and technical specifications for heavy civil projects.
• Proven track record in procurement strategies, risk management, and commercial negotiation.

Preferred Qualifications

• MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) certification.
• CCE/CCP (Certified Cost Professional) certification.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary commercial teams.
