Cost Leader

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering budget planning, including business planning cycles, long-range forecasting (3–5 years), and current year pacing.
• Provide accountable ownership of the engineering budget, including cost strategy development and KPI management.
• Partner with Nuclear Engineering and Finance to guide decision-making, predict liquidation impacts, and adjust headcount or functional costs.
• Establish dashboards and visual management tools to proactively identify cost trends and anomalies.
• Lead monthly engineering cost and budget meetings, communicating clear narratives to business leaders.
• Drive cost reduction opportunities by working cross-functionally with IT, Sourcing, and productivity leaders.
• Apply Lean mindset to eliminate process waste and improve the efficiency of the current operating model.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of related experience in the industrial sector.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in regulated industries, such as Nuclear or Power/Energy sectors.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and demand planning within large, complex organizations.
• In-depth understanding of engineering functional cost categories and processes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive outcomes in a large matrixed organization.
• Strong data literacy and proficiency with collaboration and data visualization tools.
