Cost Estimator

Responsibilities

• Provide estimate and cost planning including producing and presenting final cost plans
• Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels
• Assist in providing feasibility studies using parametric benchmark cost data
• Provide benchmarking studies, cost data analysis, and report presentations
• Undertake cost assurance of third-party estimates
• Perform procurement aspects including pre-qualification, bid analysis, and compiling contractual documents
• Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes
• Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on large projects
• Produce and present monthly cost reports to clients
• Provide input into value engineering and options analysis
• Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants
• Identify new business opportunities and process improvements
• Provide leadership and training to estimating direct reports

Requirements

• College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field
• Demonstrated experience as a Cost Manager on real estate projects (commercial, hospitality, interiors, and retail)
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CostX, and Bluebeam
• Experience with industry estimating databases such as RS Means, Trade Services, or Richardsons
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Ability to work as a self-starter and results-oriented leader
