Cost Controller

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and management of the project cost control system for a road construction project in Romania.
• Maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), budget allocation, cost coding, and cost tracking.
• Monitor and reconcile budgets, commitments, actual costs, invoices, and accruals.
• Analyze committed and actual costs, physical progress, and Estimate To Complete (ETC) to identify budget deviations and trends.
• Prepare periodic cost control reports, short- and long-term forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Interface with site, procurement, planning, accounting, and subcontract teams to ensure data consistency.
• Support contract change management by assessing cost impacts of variation orders.
• Monitor project cash flow and provide input regarding risks, opportunities, and contingency impacts.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in cost control or project controls within infrastructure, construction, or EPC projects.
• Strong understanding of budget set-up, forecasting, accruals, and cost variance analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically in road construction projects.
• Familiarity with SAP or STR Vision.
• Experience with project cost control and reporting systems.
