About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate program technical and programmatic baselines
- Create innovative cost estimating techniques for development, production, and operating and support (O&S) cost elements
- Develop independent life cycle cost estimates including risk, uncertainty, and sensitivity analysis
- Perform economic analyses such as business case analyses, cost/benefit analyses, and analysis-of-alternatives
- Assess the credibility of government and industry cost estimates, economic analyses, and cost savings initiatives
- Evaluate industry contract cost and schedule performance and conduct variance root cause analysis
- Document and present analytical results to senior managers and stakeholders
- Mentor and train less experienced cost analysts
- Collaborate effectively within Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to deliver client solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, or business)
- Minimum of 2 years of defense, intelligence, and/or civil agency program cost and economic analysis experience
- Documented completion of college-level mathematics coursework through Calculus II
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and working with large, calculation-intensive datasets
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly in both oral and written forms
Preferred Qualifications
- Active SECRET Clearance
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) system
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management activities
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as RStudio, Python, or Power BI
- Experience using Microsoft PowerApps or Power Automate for workflow solutions
- ICEAA or DAWIA certification
