About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate program technical and programmatic baselines
- Create innovative cost estimating techniques for development, production, and operating/support costs
- Develop life cycle cost estimates including risk, uncertainty, and sensitivity analysis
- Perform economic analyses such as business case analyses, cost/benefit analyses, and analysis-of-alternatives
- Assess the credibility of government and industry cost estimates, proposals, and savings initiatives
- Conduct variance root cause analysis on industry contract cost and schedule performance
- Document and present analytical results to senior managers and stakeholders
- Mentor and train less experienced cost analysts
- Collaborate effectively within integrated project teams to foster a professional work environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, or business)
- Documented completion of college-level mathematics coursework through Calculus II
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and large dataset manipulation
- Exceptional analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly in both oral and written formats
- Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving requirements and shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Active SECRET Clearance
- Knowledge of cost estimating models, economic analysis theories, and the DoW PPBE system
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk management activities
- Proficiency in data tools such as RStudio, RShiny, Power BI, Python, or Microsoft PowerApps
- Experience with weapons systems, automated information systems, or government acquisition environments
- ICEAA or DAWIA certification
