Cost Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, transportation, and overhead costs to identify trends and optimization opportunities
• Maintain accurate product and supply chain costs, including materials, labor, overhead, and freight
• Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end reporting
• Prepare cost and operational performance reporting, including KPI dashboards and variance explanations
• Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing and supply chain operations
• Develop financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate sourcing and operational initiatives
• Partner with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to provide financial insight
• Analyze inventory performance and ensure accurate valuation and controls
• Lead and develop a team of 2–3 Finance and Accounting professionals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or related roles
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Valid driver's license and ability to occasionally travel
• CPA or CMA designation is preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Previous people management experience overseeing Finance and Accounting staff
