Cost Accounting Lead

Responsibilities

• Design and improve cost analysis frameworks for direct and indirect costs
• Develop cost reporting and variance analysis for management decision-making
• Assess existing cost structures and implement improved methodologies or controls
• Prepare cost reports, financial statements, and analyses for budgeting and forecasting
• Lead cost forecasts and annual operating budgets
• Maintain annual standard cost updates and review work order settlements
• Monitor inventory accuracy and cost of goods manufactured
• Partner with production, operations, and supply chain teams to embed cost controls
• Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal accounting policies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience designing or implementing cost accounting processes
• Proficiency in variance analysis, standard costing, and inventory accounting
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with ERP systems like Epicor
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
