Correctional Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections
• Manage the daily care, custody, and control of inmates under correctional supervision
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and inmates
• Adhere to standards set by the American Correctional Association and the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid NH Driver’s License (unless residing out of state)
• Ability to obtain Certified Correctional Officer certification by the New Hampshire Association of Counties
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in corrections or law enforcement
• Equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities
