About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the integration of ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance) into end-to-end procurement processes for goods, services, and consulting.
- Conduct supplier market research and analysis, incorporating sustainability standards and climate-related risk considerations.
- Engage with suppliers regarding GHG emissions transparency and alignment with decarbonization frameworks.
- Coordinate the collection and validation of supplier sustainability information and Scope 3 data.
- Support contract administration by monitoring deliverables, ensuring compliance, and maintaining auditable procurement files.
- Partner with internal departments to clarify requirements and ensure clear communication throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Finance, Law, Economics, Project Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sustainable sourcing, or contract management.
- Proven experience applying sustainable procurement practices and managing RFPs and contractual documentation.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Citizenship of one of the 48 IDB member countries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional knowledge of French or Portuguese.
- Experience with procurement systems and data analytics.
