About the role

Responsibilities

  • Take on company secretarial responsibility for designated BlackRock investment trusts
  • Provide end-to-end support for the board corporate governance process, including agendas, papers, and minutes
  • Attend Board meetings and develop in-depth knowledge of the investment trust landscape
  • Draft content for interim and annual reports and coordinate the production process
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting investment companies
  • Liaise with brokers, registrars, external auditors, and other service providers
  • Maintain statutory books and records and ensure timely Companies House filings
  • Assist with the implementation of corporate actions such as share buybacks, issues, and tenders
  • Draft and lodge Stock Exchange announcements as required
  • Collaborate with wider teams including Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Portfolio Management

Requirements

  • Partly-qualified or newly qualified Company Secretary
  • Must have started company secretarial exams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High standards of attention to detail and integrity
  • Pro-active mindset with a "can-do" attitude toward problem-solving
  • Ability to work as a team player across multiple departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in listed funds is beneficial but not required
