About the role
Responsibilities
- Take on company secretarial responsibility for designated BlackRock investment trusts
- Provide end-to-end support for the board corporate governance process, including agendas, papers, and minutes
- Attend Board meetings and develop in-depth knowledge of the investment trust landscape
- Draft content for interim and annual reports and coordinate the production process
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting investment companies
- Liaise with brokers, registrars, external auditors, and other service providers
- Maintain statutory books and records and ensure timely Companies House filings
- Assist with the implementation of corporate actions such as share buybacks, issues, and tenders
- Draft and lodge Stock Exchange announcements as required
- Collaborate with wider teams including Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Portfolio Management
Requirements
- Partly-qualified or newly qualified Company Secretary
- Must have started company secretarial exams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High standards of attention to detail and integrity
- Pro-active mindset with a "can-do" attitude toward problem-solving
- Ability to work as a team player across multiple departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in listed funds is beneficial but not required
