Corporate Counsel, Servicing and Litigation

Responsibilities

• Advise cross-functionally on compliance with state and federal requirements relating to servicing and collections
• Draft and review related policies, procedures, and consumer-facing communications
• Monitor escalations to identify patterns, investigate systemic gaps, and remediate risks
• Manage all contentious matters and litigation, utilizing outside counsel when appropriate
• Advise on third-party agreements with vendors, debt buyers, and other servicing partners
• Test and implement AI features to automate workflows and build AI agents/playbooks

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership (New York or California preferred)
• 8+ years of legal experience, including top-tier law firm and high-growth fintech/tech in-house experience
• Demonstrated expertise in servicing, collections, and litigation within consumer finance
• Experience with AI and building automated workflows
• Strong business judgment and ability to propose practical solutions to legal risks
