Corporate Counsel, Regulatory Affairs

Responsibilities

• Serve as legal counsel on regulatory and public policy matters affecting products, business operations, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead legal support for regulatory rulemaking, advocacy strategy, and submissions to federal, state, and other governmental agencies.
• Draft and shape agency comments, position statements, and other regulatory advocacy materials.
• Represent the company in interactions with regulators, trade associations, and standards organizations.
• Advise business partners on developments in energy efficiency, refrigerants, chemicals, packaging/EPR, right to repair, and sustainability.
• Partner with engineering, product management, and compliance functions to assess regulatory risk and interpret new requirements.
• Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted laws, regulations, and standards to identify legal risks and strategic opportunities.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of relevant legal and/or regulatory experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or government.
• Significant experience analyzing, interpreting, and advising on regulatory, legislative, or administrative law matters.
• Experience supporting regulatory advocacy, including rulemaking comments or agency submissions.
• Strong legal drafting, issue-spotting, and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex legal issues into clear business guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, energy, or environmental industries.
• Experience with agencies, trade associations, or standards bodies relevant to product regulation.
• Familiarity with energy efficiency, refrigerants, chemicals regulation, packaging/EPR, or right to repair frameworks.
• Experience with codes and standards development processes.
• In-house legal experience advising business and technical stakeholders.
