Corporate Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including vendor, customer, service, SaaS, and licensing contracts
• Support corporate transactions and strategic initiatives through diligence and documentation
• Provide practical legal advice to operations, sales, marketing, product, finance, IT, and customer care departments
• Assist with corporate governance, entity management, and board materials
• Identify and mitigate legal and business risks in contracts and operational practices
• Support the development of contract templates, legal processes, and compliance procedures
• Conduct legal research on consumer protection, privacy, technology, and regulatory matters
• Help manage litigation, disputes, and partner with outside counsel
• Manage the contract lifecycle including intake, approval, and recordkeeping

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 1–4 years of relevant legal experience in corporate transactions or commercial contracts
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• North Carolina licensure or eligibility for NC in-house counsel registration
• Experience with SaaS, technology, procurement, or service agreements
• Familiarity with consumer-facing businesses, subscription services, or smart home technology
• Exposure to privacy, data security, or consumer protection law
• Experience with contract management systems or legal operations
