About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the control, development, and supervision of the accounting team and financial reporting for assigned operating facilities.
- Manage and integrate accounting systems and financial reporting structures at the corporate level.
- Supervise multiple plant Controllers and their respective accounting teams across various sites.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and maintain internal controls to safeguard corporate assets.
- Manage the timely execution of annual external audits and ensure all government corporate filings are completed.
- Conduct special projects and investigations as directed by the CFO or Executive Management.
- Oversee risk and insurance management for the Corporate Group.
- Travel to various facilities and operations within Canada, the USA, and Mexico as required.
Requirements
- University or College degree in Financial Accounting or Business Administration.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA).
- 7-10 years of financial accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- International accounting experience, specifically working with or in jurisdictions outside of Canada (USA and Mexico preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to motivate teams and drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Enterprise Management Software reporting platforms such as OneStream or Hyperion.
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and multi-jurisdictional accounting.
- Specific experience working with Mexican operations.
