About the Company

Saildrone is a maritime defense company and the global leader in autonomous unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). They maintain active, combat-deployed systems supporting national security and force projection around the world.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and quarter-end close to deliver accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Manage general ledger, chart of accounts, internal controls, and payroll operations
• Lead annual financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
• Support DCAA/DCMA reviews and ensure defense-related accounting meets FAR/CAS standards
• Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain on WIP, CapEx, and production costing
• Oversee complex technical accounting including ASC 606 for SaaS and hardware contracts
• Improve ERP/MRP workflows and drive automation via NetSuite
• Build, mentor, and recruit a high-performing accounting team

Requirements

• Active CPA required
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and project-based cost accounting
• Direct experience in SaaS, hardware/manufacturing, and/or defense environments
• Familiarity with government contracting compliance (FAR, DCAA, CAS)
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Costpoint, or SAP
