About the role
Responsibilities
- Interpret complex corporate action announcements and accurately publish them for clients
- Assess client impact and prepare entitlement calculations prior to posting payments
- Research and adjust for discrepancies across various depositories
- Act as a subject matter expert on corporate action events, processes, and legal documentation
- Process physical certificate exchanges for privately held securities
- Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and issuers
- Participate as a project lead or SME for departmental initiatives, audits, and risk assessments
- Assist in creating procedures to strengthen quality and risk controls
Requirements
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the securities or brokerage industry
- 3+ years of experience in entitlements processing, including tax and legal implications
- Extensive knowledge of financial transaction processing, settlements, or corporate actions
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment with strict daily deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with Dataphile
- Completion or enrollment in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC)
