Corporate Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries including amortization and accruals
• Review sub-ledgers and entries from Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
• Perform intercompany reconciliations across all entities
• File HST and respond to CRA audits for corporate tax and HST accounts
• Prepare monthly working papers and report on P&L and budget-to-actual results
• Prepare consolidated working papers for quarterly and year-end reporting
• Coordinate with external accountants for annual audits and tax advisors for annual filings
• Assist in preparing annual corporate budgets, periodic forecasts, and cash flow management
• Evaluate current processes to suggest efficiency improvements

Requirements

• Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Working knowledge of ASPE financial reporting
• Hands-on month-end close experience including journal entries and reconciliations
• Experience in multi-entity environments with intercompany transactions
• Experience preparing and filing HST returns and responding to CRA inquiries
• Proficiency with Excel including pivot tables and lookups
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation completed or in progress
• Experience with Yardi or similar ERP/accounting systems
