About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with third-party vendors in the design and analysis of gas storage COPVs
  • Work with thermo-fluid engineers on vehicle gas system design and operation
  • Establish test campaigns for the qualification and acceptance of COPVs
  • Perform tests and review data
  • Support integration of COPVs on the rocket
  • Support flight operations and review flight data
  • Select, develop, and qualify materials and process controls
  • Select, vet, and manage vendors
  • Perform trade studies to improve gas storage solutions
  • Assess long-term COPV design and manufacturing plans

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or a technical discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Understanding of pressure vessel engineering fundamentals
  • Experience applying knowledge of fluid and mechanical system design and operation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with COPVs or other composite structures
  • Experience in a creative and fast-paced development environment
  • Experience with CAD and FEA
  • Experience with launch vehicle systems
