About the role
Responsibilities
- Partner with third-party vendors in the design and analysis of gas storage COPVs
- Work with thermo-fluid engineers on vehicle gas system design and operation
- Establish test campaigns for the qualification and acceptance of COPVs
- Perform tests and review data
- Support integration of COPVs on the rocket
- Support flight operations and review flight data
- Select, develop, and qualify materials and process controls
- Select, vet, and manage vendors
- Perform trade studies to improve gas storage solutions
- Assess long-term COPV design and manufacturing plans
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or a technical discipline
- 2+ years of relevant technical experience
- Understanding of pressure vessel engineering fundamentals
- Experience applying knowledge of fluid and mechanical system design and operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with COPVs or other composite structures
- Experience in a creative and fast-paced development environment
- Experience with CAD and FEA
- Experience with launch vehicle systems
