About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and expand Work-Based Learning (WBL) programming using Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways.
- Develop initiatives that create hands-on learning opportunities to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, industry experts, and business partners to foster a regional network of opportunities.
- Connect internship opportunities, such as Iowa Learns, between industry partners and local schools.
- Collaborate with K-12 educators and DMACC faculty to identify goals, map current practices, and identify gaps in WBL.
- Assist faculty in integrating WBL experiences and competitions into teaching practices and curriculum.
- Design and expand Professional Development (PD) experiences for CTE educators to help them implement WBL into their school districts.
- Provide direction in CTE recruitment efforts and maintain quarterly reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in program recruitment, career services, admissions, training and development, or a related educational setting; OR an Associate's degree and 5 years of experience in a related area.
- Experience working with high school populations.
- Experience working with business and industry partners.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate events and activities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver public presentations.
- Experience developing new programs in an educational setting.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience working within a community college environment.
- Knowledge of career awareness, exploration, and planning strategies, tools, and systems.
- Experience in large group event planning and implementation.
- Experience with program evaluation and data management.
