About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist DDC teams in navigating DEP review and approval of permit applications
- Provide technical assistance and decision support on various projects
- Supply information regarding compliance with the unified storm water rule
- Review, approve, and disapprove Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs)
- Review plans requiring knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and soils
- Perform mathematical calculations and oversee inspection of as-built plans
- Review maps, plans, drawings, and specifications for construction and demolition permits
- Prepare associated reports, correspondence, and maintain records
- Conduct and attend meetings with project teams to provide updates and filing strategies
Requirements
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer License
- Four years of full-time experience in environmental engineering (a Master's degree in environmental engineering can substitute for one year of experience)
- Must meet specific civil service criteria for the Environmental Engineer title
- Authorization to work full-time in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a major contributor or project leader on complex projects within the last three years
- Expertise in disciplines needed to design or construct environmental projects
