About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute evidence-based initiatives to increase completion rates for post-traditional and student parent populations.
  • Provide high-touch academic advising, career coaching, and mentorship to help students balance academics with professional and family life.
  • Facilitate the creation of affinity communities to foster peer-to-peer support and social connection.
  • Serve as a campus expert on wraparound services, assisting students in accessing local, state, and federal support systems like SNAP and childcare.
  • Collaborate with Residential Education to support families living in the EcoVillage.
  • Partner with Campus Life, the Black Cultural Center, Espacio Cultural Latinx, and Counseling Services to ensure inclusive programming.
  • Hire, train, and mentor student labor positions, supporting the development of students' professional acumen.
  • Advocate on institutional committees to ensure campus policies and physical spaces are accessible to students with diverse life commitments.
  • Research and secure external grant opportunities to expand program capacity and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of experience in student success, academic advising, counseling, or case management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with adult learners, student parents, or veterans in an advocacy capacity.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across various college departments.
  • Established experience in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Exceptional team leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to continual change and growth.
