About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direct oversight of the Valiant Launch: Learning and Social Success Program.
- Supervise 8–10 part-time Learning Specialists, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Oversee daily program operations, including workshops, study halls, and pre-orientation programming.
- Serve as the primary contact for students enrolled in supplementary support programs, monitoring progress and maintaining confidential records.
- Collaborate with the Center for Student Accessibility to develop and assess program curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data related to student outcomes and program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement.
- Partner with faculty and campus offices to enhance accessibility and integrated student support.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in higher education or transition settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in executive functioning skill development and student success strategies.
- Proven experience managing staff or overseeing complex programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting neurodivergent students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in higher education disability services.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
- Experience with special education in grades 6-12 or 9-12.
