Coordinator of the Master of Arts in Religious Studies, Assistant Professor of Religion

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership for the Master of Arts in Religious Studies program, including coordinating functions and serving as a program spokesperson.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver graduate-level asynchronous and synchronous instruction.
• Interview and vet potential faculty members for the program.
• Advise online students using group or individual advising methods.
• Manage course materials, syllabi, and learning management system activities.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing timely feedback.
• Assist the Dean of Graduate School with curriculum development and the collection of assessment data.
• Approve capstone projects and maintain accurate enrollment and grading records.

Requirements

• PhD, DMin, ThD, or other advanced degree in Religion.
• Demonstrated proficiency in various areas of Religious Studies.
• Proven experience teaching in online and hybrid formats.
• Knowledge of instructional technology and learning management systems.
• Experience in adult education or a strong understanding of adult learning theories.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment with diverse learners.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality Matters Online Teaching Certification.
• Corporate experience.
