About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Rutgers University Pep Bands, including approximately 225 students.
- Provide coaching and support for all on and off-campus events, including in-game presentations for Men’s/Women’s Basketball and Volleyball.
- Assist with the coaching of the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights (approximately 385 students).
- Write scripts for all pregame and halftime shows for the Marching Scarlet Knights and in-game production for pep bands.
- Provide visual drill design and choreography for the Marching Scarlet Knights, including game week preparation.
- Attend annual Big Ten and NCAA tournaments and annual football bowl games.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in music education or related professional experience in collegiate athletic bands and/or visual and drill design.
- Experience in collegiate athletic bands.
- Proficiency in visual and drill design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Working knowledge of Pyware and Ultimate Drill Book.
- Ability to work nights and weekends and lift boxes as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in a relevant field.
- Significant professional experience in the field of collegiate athletic bands and/or visual and drill design.
