Coordinator of Athletic Bands

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Rutgers University Pep Bands, including approximately 225 students.
• Provide coaching and support for all on and off-campus events, including in-game presentations for Men’s/Women’s Basketball and Volleyball.
• Assist with the coaching of the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights (approximately 385 students).
• Write scripts for all pregame and halftime shows for the Marching Scarlet Knights and in-game production for pep bands.
• Provide visual drill design and choreography for the Marching Scarlet Knights, including game week preparation.
• Attend annual Big Ten and NCAA tournaments and annual football bowl games.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in music education or related professional experience in collegiate athletic bands and/or visual and drill design.
• Experience in collegiate athletic bands.
• Proficiency in visual and drill design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Working knowledge of Pyware and Ultimate Drill Book.
• Ability to work nights and weekends and lift boxes as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral Degree in a relevant field.
• Significant professional experience in the field of collegiate athletic bands and/or visual and drill design.
