About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Computer Information Systems (CIS) lab activities and manage the CIS open lab
- Prepare lab sessions and perform planned classroom lab activities for specific courses
- Assist students with completing lab activities, answering technical questions, and debugging programs
- Provide feedback and recommended improvements to instructors regarding lab sessions
- Manage the CIS open lab schedule, ensuring it is staffed, organized, and prepared for student use
- Oversee computer equipment and peripherals, submitting help desk tickets for non-functioning devices
- Monitor and record weekly inventory of machines, devices, and furniture in labs and laptop carts
- Supervise student workers assigned to lab staffing duties
Requirements
- Associate's degree plus one year of work experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more specializations within Computer Information Systems
- Familiarity with networking concepts and broad knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assisting instructors in presenting student lab sessions
- Experience assisting teams with extracurricular events such as open houses and student tours
