About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate programs and events for Section 8 participants
- Supervise staff, approve timesheets, and perform performance appraisals
- Manage public communication with landlords, tenants, and community leaders
- Ensure staff compliance with federal regulatory and local policy guidelines
- Review financial documents and respond to program inquiries
- Execute Section 8 tasks including application screenings, eligibility determinations, and rent calculations
- Manage client information and transactions in compliance with Federal HUD Rules
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree and two years of community work experience, OR
- High school diploma and six years of community work experience
- At least one year of experience in community-centered activities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of rental subsidies or Section 8 programs
- Bilingual skills
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
