About the role

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with parents and families, serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries and support.
  • Design and execute impactful programming, including Annual Town Halls, information sessions, webinars, and Parents’ Weekend.
  • Manage the parents/family web portal to serve as a central hub for information, updates, and resources.
  • Collaborate with the Division of University Advancement to engage families in philanthropic activities and oversee the Parent & Family Advisory Council (PFAC).
  • Coordinate the President’s Essay Contest and other signature university events.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between the university, students, and families to support student retention and graduation.
  • Train and supervise student workers assigned to Parent and Family Programs.
  • Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of parent and family programming on an annual basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management and program development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, social media platforms, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various university departments and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience working within a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in parent/family engagement.
