Coordinator, Digital Asset Archive

Responsibilities

• Curate and add value to the NHL’s historical archive of video, image, and document collections
• Apply metadata to media assets to develop a robust, searchable tool for stakeholders
• Adhere to policies for populating Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems and identify workflow improvements
• Conduct in-depth research to identify and tag specific assets and elements within the database
• Coordinate with out-of-house vendors to ensure media is properly digitized and ingested
• Perform regular inventories of media assets within the NHL archive

Requirements

• Vast knowledge of hockey history, including players, teams, and major events
• Basic understanding of nonlinear editing tools (e.g., Final Cut, Premiere)
• Strong computer, research, and data analysis skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through abilities
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in New York, NY, including nights, holidays, or weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in broadcasting, information technology, sports management, or library science
• One or more years of experience in post-production, broadcast facilities, or sports organizations
• Understanding of digital asset management systems and media library workflows
• General understanding of video codecs and tape formats
