About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level clerical, administrative, and operational support for Chemistry Department faculty, staff, and students.
- Assist with event management for colloquia, seminars, and recruitment, including booking travel, reserving spaces, and processing honorariums.
- Manage onboarding and exit procedures for departmental personnel, including updating records and assisting with visa applications.
- Coordinate room reservations for courses, lectures, and research group meetings.
- Produce departmental communications such as broadcast emails, flyers, web announcements, and maintaining the department calendar.
- Provide professional reception services, including screening visitors, routing calls, and managing departmental mail and supplies.
- Support the graduate admissions process with logistical assistance and materials distribution.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; some college education is highly preferred.
- Minimum of three years of related administrative experience.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with website content management systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in desktop publishing or graphic design.
