About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and team systems for the CRCL mobile crisis response team
- Provide daily supervision, coaching, and 1:1 support to staff
- Respond to acute mental health and substance use related crises through triage and de-escalation
- Develop comprehensive safety plans and post-crisis follow-up care
- Manage the central call line, including phone and text assessments
- Maintain confidential client case files and community care plans
- Collaborate with emergency services, police, and healthcare providers
Requirements
- University degree in mental health, health, or social services (e.g., social work, psychiatric nursing)
- 3-5 years of clinical and operational leadership experience in mental health programs
- 2-3 years of Program Coordination/Management experience in health or social care
- Strong understanding of colonialism and its impact on Indigenous People
- Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
- First aid and CPR level C certification
- Ability to work mandatory overtime and unpredictable environments

AVI Health & Community Services is a multi-disciplinary community-based organization providing HIV, hepatitis C, harm reduction, and mental health services on Vancouver Island. The CRCL program is a mobile crisis response team led by persons with lived experience and mental health professionals.
