Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and team systems for the CRCL mobile crisis response team
• Provide daily supervision, coaching, and 1:1 support to staff
• Respond to acute mental health and substance use related crises through triage and de-escalation
• Develop comprehensive safety plans and post-crisis follow-up care
• Manage the central call line, including phone and text assessments
• Maintain confidential client case files and community care plans
• Collaborate with emergency services, police, and healthcare providers

Requirements

• University degree in mental health, health, or social services (e.g., social work, psychiatric nursing)
• 3-5 years of clinical and operational leadership experience in mental health programs
• 2-3 years of Program Coordination/Management experience in health or social care
• Strong understanding of colonialism and its impact on Indigenous People
• Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
• First aid and CPR level C certification
• Ability to work mandatory overtime and unpredictable environments

AVI Health & Community Services is a multi-disciplinary community-based organization providing HIV, hepatitis C, harm reduction, and mental health services on Vancouver Island. The CRCL program is a mobile crisis response team led by persons with lived experience and mental health professionals.
