About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line management of the front desk, facility, and event operations at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of approximately 40 student staff members
  • Oversee all cash handling, including deposits, petty cash, and financial reconciliation of sales
  • Manage facility calendars and schedules to ensure maximum profitability and efficient usage of spaces
  • Develop and implement communication protocols, operating procedures, and event run sheets
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors during facility conversions and event load-ins/load-outs
  • Facilitate private bookings, including contract creation, rental equipment management, and insurance collection
  • Perform regular facility and equipment inspections and escalate maintenance issues

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of two years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong financial and accounting skills
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift or move heavy objects of approximately 50lbs
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Public Administration, or Human Resources
  • Experience with live entertainment, event production, or event management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced SharePoint) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience using PerfectMind or Class software
  • Strong skills in project management, coaching, and conflict resolution
