About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute hot food production following recipe cards and portioning standards
- Manage cold batch production including fruit cups, veggie packs, and salads
- Perform weekly inventory counts and manage ordering based on batch schedules
- Enforce FEFO (First Expired, First Out) protocols for all food storage
- Lead and develop Kitchen and Service Assistants through shift briefings
- Maintain food safety logs, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules
- Communicate proactively with school administration regarding menu or service updates
Requirements
- Current Food Handler certification (required)
- Experience in high-volume kitchen environments (school food service, catering, etc.)
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in both hot line and cold prep
- High attention to detail regarding recipes, labeling, and food safety
- Reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
