About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce menu items for dining, banquets, and conference guests in a high-volume environment
- Maintain general kitchen maintenance and ensure high standards of food presentation
- Follow all sanitation and safety rules regarding food production, storage, and service
- Manage inventory control and perform basic calculations for recipes, measurements, and portion sizes
- Work cooperatively with team members to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient service
Requirements
- 2+ years of food preparation and kitchen maintenance experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Proficiency in English to read, understand, and perform job duties, including recipes and measurements
- Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and inventory control principles
- Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Valid California noncommercial Class C Driver's License
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment with fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving University vehicles, such as electric carts, for site inspections or meetings
