About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare tasty, nutritious meals for patients, including special diets tailored with help from a Registered Dietitian
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety following strict food safety rules
- Perform dual roles including Cook duties and assisting as a Dietary Aide in the dining room
- Assist with stocking freezers and preparing upcoming menus
- Work collaboratively within a fast-moving team environment
Requirements
- Food Handler Certificate and Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to regularly push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and background check
- Schedule flexibility for fluctuating shifts and weekend rotations
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of dietary/cook experience in a healthcare facility or commercial/central kitchen
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of computer-based documentation systems
