Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals, including those tailored to special dietary needs
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas
• Follow all food service and safety regulations to ensure equipment and food security
• Manage resources and donations effectively to minimize waste
• Assist with food supply ordering and donation/delivery sorting
• Provide orientation for cleaning equipment and occasional supervision to volunteers
• Perform duties in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while upholding organizational values

Requirements

• High school completion
• Two years of related kitchen experience, preferably in an institutional setting
• Current certification in FoodSafe and WHMIS
• Current certification in Naloxone training, First Aid with CPR, Mental Health First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (or willingness to be trained)
• Fluency in verbal and written English
• Ability to pass a satisfactory background check
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
• Availability for casual/on-call shifts, including weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of special diet preparations
• Additional language skills
