About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of all food items in a timely and efficient manner according to daily menus
- Ensure correct portion sizes and proper temperatures for all prepared food items
- Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment by following all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Process GET orders and provide excellent customer service to students and staff
- Meet and greet customers in a respectful manner to ensure satisfaction
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Minimum of one year of experience in a food preparation position
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 4 hours
- Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds
- Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or certification from a post-secondary culinary arts training program
- One or more years of experience in a high-volume ala carte operation
- Managerial ServSafe certification
- Three or more years of proven customer service experience
- Experience working with students and a diverse, multi-cultural staff
