Cook's Helper

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of all food items in a timely and efficient manner according to daily menus
• Ensure correct portion sizes and proper temperatures for all prepared food items
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment by following all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Process GET orders and provide excellent customer service to students and staff
• Meet and greet customers in a respectful manner to ensure satisfaction

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Minimum of one year of experience in a food preparation position
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic math skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 4 hours
• Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds
• Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or certification from a post-secondary culinary arts training program
• One or more years of experience in a high-volume ala carte operation
• Managerial ServSafe certification
• Three or more years of proven customer service experience
• Experience working with students and a diverse, multi-cultural staff
