About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and chef specifications
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen equipment and storage areas
- Work a food station during service and manage cooking times for timely delivery
- Ensure accurate portion sizes and presentation of dishes
- Safely operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and slicers
- Assist with food delivery storage and report equipment or product issues
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service operations
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques including baking, grilling, and sautéing
- Understanding of food handling, safety, and restaurant guidelines
- Ability to work under stressful circumstances and adapt to changing environments
- Proficient English communication skills; Spanish is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary School graduate
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification
