About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hot and cold foods according to specific recipes and standards
  • Portion and plate foods while following regulated hygiene and portion size standards
  • Prepare patient trays in accordance with specific dietary needs and requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned kitchen areas
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels in assigned areas
  • Date and store food items correctly using HACCP procedures
  • Record food temperatures during the cooking process
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding food service equipment and knife handling

Requirements

  • Current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification
  • One year of cooking experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting
  • Ability to follow instructions and understand complex recipes
  • Basic math skills and strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of formal cooking courses
