About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare hot and cold foods according to specific recipes and standards
- Portion and plate foods while following regulated hygiene and portion size standards
- Prepare patient trays in accordance with specific dietary needs and requests
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned kitchen areas
- Monitor and maintain stock levels in assigned areas
- Date and store food items correctly using HACCP procedures
- Record food temperatures during the cooking process
- Follow all safety procedures regarding food service equipment and knife handling
Requirements
- Current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification
- One year of cooking experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting
- Ability to follow instructions and understand complex recipes
- Basic math skills and strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a positive and professional manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of formal cooking courses
