Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve well-balanced and nutritious meals for clients and special events
- Clean and sanitize dishes and kitchen utensils
- Provide assistance in the development of daily menus
- Complete production sheets on a daily basis
- Strictly follow sanitation, hygiene, and food handling standards as per Department of Health and Hygiene
- Promptly report equipment, food quality, or shortage problems to the Kitchen Supervisor
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED and Certificate in Food Protection required
- 2-3 years of experience in the food service industry
- Ability to operate institutional ovens, steamers, kettles, and slicers
- Strong knife skills and food preparation techniques
- Ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift 40 pounds and up
- Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary school diploma
